This class will cover how to set up and organize a design catalog in your computer and then show you how to transfer your designs from CDs, USBs and internet downloads into the catalog and move to your machine. We will also cover what to do with a ZIPPED file and how to download free software that will allow you to see your designs as actual pictures. Bring your Windows laptop, design CDs and/or USB stick designs. In the event your only computer is a desktop, bring a USB stick. You can borrow a laptop and set up your catalog on the stick where it can be easily transferred to your home computer.

Large (18” wide, 12” deep, 14” tall) zipper top bag great for all of your magical stuff! Two outside and two inside pockets keep everything organized. Structural stays keep the bag in shape. See a sample bag at Friends & Co.

Supplies: Pattern: Poppin Tote by Aunties Two, includes structural stays Sewing machine: Please bring the largest sewing machine you have to class. This bag is bulky to sew and would be challenging to push through a smaller ‘travel’ machine. Sewing supplies: Walking foot (if you have one), scissors, pins, seam ripper, tape measure, etc. Machine needles: Size 90 or 100 Rotary mat, cutter and acrylic rulers: the largest size you are willing to bring to class Teflon Sheet: if you have one Removable marker or chalk: I suggest you test it on your fabric prior to class Wonder Clips: if you have them In-R-Form Plus (fusible foam available at Friends & Co) For bag body: 58” by 36” package (please no substitutes) For bag bottom: 2 pieces each 12” by 18” (not needed until session 2) (you may use any other stiff fusible interfacing you prefer for bag bottom, but it must be fairly stiff.) Zipper: 30” handbag zipper (not needed until session 2) Fabric: See back of pattern envelop for their suggested fabric requirements. Basically, you will need: 1 yard for the bag exterior (excluding pockets), 1 yard for the bag interior (excluding pockets), About 1 yard for the pockets (you can choose a panel for the pockets, such as the class sample, or regular fabric), ½ yard for the pocket sashing and binding. We will discuss several options for the handles at the first session and the fabric requirements for each option, but will not cut or make them until the second session..

12th : Software Club - Crazy Patch Quilt Blocks

February 12th 10am - 12pm

For Premier+™Ultra or Premier+™2 Ultra software. Create your own pieced in the hoop quilt blocks and experiment with different ways to add decorative stitches and texture! There are so many possibilities! Bring your laptop (dongle Premier+™) or borrow a laptop and bring a USB stick to save your designs to.

 

26th : Destiny Day - Quilting in the Hoop with IQ Designer by Mary Lou

Febuary 26th 10am - 3pm

First you will piece a small wall hanging and then quilt it in multiple hoops using your IQ Designer for perfect placement while adding embroidery and quilt stitches! Supply list available shortly.

When you make this wallet, it is like eating potato chips! You want to make more than one. The purchased wallet clasp gives the look of a high end fabric clutch wallet, while the many inner card pockets, bill pockets and zippered pocket hold everything you need. This wallet is easy to make and is a great beginner class. Please do not cut out the fabric prior to class as we will discuss a few options of how to make the wallet.
